Apparently a February 09 release, the new Pioneer CDJ1000 Mk4 models have every DJ on the planet wetting their lips in anticipation.
With a small amount of supposedly ‘leaked’ images – but more like good photoshop tweaks of existing models, most people have offered their opinions, rumours and ideas to what features the next upgrades of Pioneers legendary CD decks will be.

Now Pioneer are the best at keeping secrets so these leaked images scattered around the web are more than likely fakes. However there is one piece of information let slip by Collee Chappell of Pioneer, read on to find out what…

Predicting a new digital dj revolution, Collee Chappell was quoted saying -

“We are about to drop the bomb on the digital realm. The future will be simplified. We think portable media is the future – i-Phone, i-Pod, i-Touch – whatever you’re carting media on. I don’t think users want to carry a laptop, dongle and black box for much longer. Pioneer will launch a new digital DJ product – a total interface, in September. “

Now correct me if I’m wrong but haven’t Numark been doing this for a while now (adding iPod function to almost everything), so much for being a Pioneer. However we wonder if this has influenced the new CDJ MK4 design too? Watch this space…
