Giving you a good thump across the ears

Picture the scenario – you’re looking to get some new monitor speakers with a good transparent professional sound for use when producing that next big hit. But you also need some ooomph in the lower end for mixing and matching beats, and not just with that crispy and tight sound for your recording and production. Well thank Mackie’s more affordable engineering team and their latest 5 inch super tight yet super beefy Tapco S5’s.

We all know KRK Rokit powered monitors are the daddy’s for getting those levels right in your home studio, but they could do with a sub woofer or some more thwack in the lower end when you work those CDJ’s time and again. The Tapco S5’s have certainly offered a solution to that problem. I remember setting a pair up across the shop floor to the counter where I am usually based, and when a customer arrived later that day pressing play on the Akai MPC500, all I can remember thinking is ‘my god that bass feels so nice from here’. Note the ‘feels so nice’ and not ’sounds so nice’. You could feel the bass nevermind just hear it.

The Tapco S5’s are surely loud enough for regular DJ practice sessions and are up there with the KRK’s for production transparency, but even though they don’t have a gorgeous yellow painted cone, they certainly look and feel rugged enough with a smart polished metal outer casing and a jet engine like 5 inch woofer to set them off.

With only a few pairs left in stock before a price increase in the next month or so you can order them now from our website at a very reasonable price, or give us a call on 0191 260 33 33.
