Since taking delivery of these new 4 channel siblings of ‘probably the best DJ interface in the world’ Audio 8 DJ, we received a question via our Ebay store regarding the compatibility of using the Audio 4 DJ with timecode CD’s.
The customer in question was wondering if the Traktor timecode CD’s would work using this interface with Traktor Scratch Pro software, as quoted by him ‘I lost my Audio 8 DJ at my last gig’ and this way was the cheapest way to replace his loss. So, I decided to investigate his query and at first I thought it wasn’t working after installing and hooking it all up but then realised there was no ‘Source’ button to select the input source between Vinyl and Line. All hail the Audio 4 DJ Control Panel as if you click on the correct input led on the window it instantly enables that input level and my CD timecodes kicked into action. So I sent a reply telling the customer it worked no problems and he would obviously own the most affordable, yet best DJ interface on the market right now with probably the highest quality sound conversion out there in such a small and cool looking box.
It does make you think why Native Instruments haven’t released this unit sooner, probably because they were frightened that offering these features outside of a Traktor Scratch box they would lose out on profits from the fraudsters and crackers out there with unlicensed software. But when you think about it another way, they are now making their money back from this minority of unlawful software owners.
If you fancy ordering one of these cute Native Instrument units add them to your basket in our online store here, or simply pick up the phone and give us a call on 0191 260 33 33.
