Is it really the Dawn of a new Species?

normal_pioneer-teaser-20090906-083952With the viral video clips doing the rounds at the moment involving a lot of top professional DJ’s, Pioneer have certainly got the whole DJ community on the edge of their seats in anticipation.

Of course when you see the video’s shown below they don’t really give anything away. However there has been an image floating around on the web which includes ‘CDJ1000 MK4‘ in the file-name. This could of course be nothing and could just be a hoax but it’s the best image everyone has seen of the new Pioneer product…

From this image though, it almost safe to say that it could just be a cross between a DVJ’s media browsing capability and the CDJ1000 with a special larger screen for browsing media files (Numark iCDx anyone?). It also looks like the jog wheel has some sort of illumination on it via the outer rim (Vestax VCI 100 anyone?).  Will this new product shake up the industry just like they did with the CDJ’s years ago? Will it have the features to control dj software like the CDJ400 does or will it offer so much that software will not be required?  The death of Serato and Traktor I you say?

Hopefully this isn’t some sort of a catch-up product that Pioneer are bringing out to match or combine all those already on the market that don’t have the Pioneering-industry-standard brand. Hopefully it is something fresh that will keep Pioneer at the forefront of the DJ technology industry and also hopefully the price won’t reach jupiter.

Keep an eye over on www.skratchworx.com on the 17th September around 6.30pm to see if Gizmo announces to the DJ world before anyone else on what this Pioneer species will be, then head back here to join in and tell us what you think…

UPDATE!! – Heard something that his will not be a Midi Controller!! Which kind of makes sense from a business perspective as if they went more into software control then their pioneer mixers with FX wouldn’t be required would they?
